This research programme focuses on strengthening safety culture and teamwork within surgical departments. It addresses how surgical teams train together, how working conditions influence clinical performance, and how safety culture can be measured in a practical and meaningful way. Part of this work has resulted in the Safety Climate Thermometer, a tool developed with international expert input to monitor team dynamics and safety perceptions in daily practice.
