The DECO Study Achieves Inclusion

The DECO (DeCompression) study, a clinical trial investigating the benefits of surgical decompression for diabetic neuropathy, has proudly reached its inclusion target.

Throughout the inclusion phase, the study screened nearly a thousand diabetic patients experiencing neuropathic symptoms. This extensive screening process not only ensures a robust trial cohort but also provides a unique opportunity to evaluate the sensitivity of current screening tools. By doing so, the DECO study aims to refine the patient selection process for decompression surgery, ensuring that those who are most likely to benefit from the procedure are accurately identified.

With the inclusion phase now complete, the focus shifts to the collection and analysis of follow-up data. The study’s findings on primary and secondary outcomes will be instrumental in shaping the future of diabetic neuropathy treatment. The DECO study team looks forward to sharing these insights and contributing to improved patient care and health system sustainability.
